Healthy School Award

20th July 2018

We were delighted to have been awarded with our Healthy Schools plaque this morning.

We welcomed Jane Black, Service Director of Education and Early Years in Cornwall and Jilly Parkinson from Healthy Schools who presented Mrs Green and Mrs Jones with our award. Sarah Drummond and Lily our school nurture dog also joined us this morning. The award this year recognises our commitment to the well being of our children.

We are thrilled to be recognised as a Healthy School and feel it ties in very well with yet more success that we have achieved. We are delighted to announce that Landewednack School have again achieved the School Games Gold Mark Award for the 2017/18 academic year.  This is a government led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sports Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and in to the community. Well done to Mrs Jane and the children their hard work in ensuring we were awarded this Gold Mark again.

Work is due to begin next week on the multipurpose track which will be on our school field. Huge thanks to the Witchball Restaurant who have very kindly donated £2000 (from their annual Beer Festival) towards the final cost of the track.
