School Camp 2017 - Day 2

16th May 2017
Day 2 of camp was very wet too!. Everyone spent the day down at beautiful Fowey. Hoping that the sun would put in an appearance through the persisitant rain! ( Mrs Jane doesn't think she has ever been so wet!!) Everyone was spilt into groups of 6 and either made their up the river by canoe or by sailing boat. The canoes were strapped together in pairs so the children had to work together to paddle and steer. Lunch was eaten at Polruan, a lovely village on the opposite side to Fowey. Everyone walked out to the mouth of the river and looked around the castle that stood to protect the town from various invaders. Despite being wet the children were all great and the singing from the boys as they made their way back down the river was said to be amazing.......

Once back at camp the children were very keen to get into the warm showers (Mrs Jane has never known Amy to shower so much!) Dinner was very filling yet again and the evening was spent playing dodgeball and various party games including musical chairs. Everyone had a great evening. Time for bed came and we didin't have to say anything, the children were straight in their tents. Mrs Jane would like to add how proud she and the staff are of all of the chidlren. Everyone settled really well and went off to sleep without a fuss. A fantastic group of children.

Everyone woke this morning at 7am to no rain or fog and could actually see the view from the camp! However that was very short lived as the rain has started to pour again and Mrs Jane would like to warn parents to expect very wet children/staff and their belongings later on!

Thank you again to Mrs Jane for keeping us updated...
